Khandra Sears who presented the beautiful costume “Lick dem with de music” captured the essence of junkanoo with a vibrant array of colors and placed first in the Individual Female (adult) category.
BJAM-DC participated in its first costume competition (Dimanche Gras 2006) for the upcoming DC Carnival parade and stunned the audience with its highly energetic performance and magnificent costumes. Four costumes were entered in three categories: Individual Female (Adult), Queen of the Bands, and two in the King of the Bands. The theme for this year’s parade is “Party in Da Backyard”. There are four components that represent this theme: Food, Drinks, Music, and Games
